We Met Pat Cardwell

Pat and Michala Cardwell with Doug and Lisa Merrill

Candidate for US Congress (2nd District, VA), Pat Cardwell, came to Virginia for USA Headquarters in Williamsburg VA to visit with a group of voters.  There was a lot of socializing, but most importantly, there were discussions about policy and politics in Hampton Roads – our favorite subject.

Candidate Cardwell made his positions clear on Budget and Spending; Defense; Right to Life, Term Limits and even Constitutional Rights. It was a lively, informative event, enjoyed by all present.  To learn more about Pat Cardwell and his platform go to www.PatCardwell.com.  Pat also appreciates any and all donations to his underdog campaign.  Unlike most candidates, whose websites are almost solely to solicit donations, you have to look a little closely to find the “contribute” button.

If you missed this event, stay tuned.  There may be another opportunity for us in the Historic Triangle to meet Pat.

One of the things I found most interesting is that, according to Pat Cardwell, Randy Forbes isn’t even eligible to be chairman of the Armed Services Committee until 2021, and that’s only IF we maintain a Republican congress.
Cong. Forbes and his supporters have been touting this, so I was taken aback to hear otherwise from Pat Cardwell. I thought Pat’s positions on the issue were Conservative, Liberty-minded, and rooted in the Constitution. He was good-natured and down to earth. He got into this race (not 4th district, not Lt. Gov.–THIS race) ahead of his opponents because he is genuinely concerned about the 2nd district and our representation in Washington. His slogan says it all: Patriot–Not Politician.
